Why Is My Toilet Running?
A toilet that keeps running is usually caused by:
- Worn-out flapper or seal

- Old fill valve needing adjustment or replacement
Step 1: Check the Flapper
Remove the tank lid and inspect the flapper at the bottom. Make sure it seals completely. If worn, replace it.
Step 2: Adjust the Float
The float controls water level. If it’s too high, water overflows into the tube and toilet keeps running. Adjust it lower.
Step 3: Inspect the Chain
Make sure the chain connecting the flush handle and flapper isn’t tangled or too tight. Adjust length if needed.
Step 4: Check the Overflow Tube
Ensure water isn’t spilling into the overflow tube constantly. If so, adjust float or replace faulty parts.
Step 5: Replace Fill Valve if Needed
Old fill valves can cause constant running. Turn off water, remove the valve, and replace with a new one.
